Hello friends:   It’s Tickets NOW – TIME  !!
  • Yes, it’s definitely ‘ticket time’ for the Markham Prayer Breakfast!
  • As we mentioned in a previous edition of our newsletter our goal this year is to accommodate 700 guests. We are excited to let you know that we are well on the way to achieving that target with over 450 Tickets already allocated.
  • You can quickly see that we still have some additional capacity and so we encourage you to reach out to the Prayer Breakfast committee at this time to ensure that you are not ‘left out’ of Markham’s largest Christian event of the year.
  • It’s easy to get a ticket— here are your options:

September 2019 – Update

 We welcome the beautiful colours of fall..

Dear Friend, Welcome back! 
For many congregations September represents the month for ‘welcome back’ as a new church year commences, and new programs get into gear.
  •  Markham Prayer Breakfast committee is also getting into gear…… however the Prayer Breakfast is far from a new program as this year we will celebrate 22 years of continuous service in the area of prayer for our leaders and people of Markham
  • In August we confirmed that everything was ready at the hotel – we are pleased to once again be holding our uplifting event at the Markham Suites Hotel, at the intersection of Highway #7 and Warden Avenue.
  • The committee will be meeting at the hotel at 5.30 AM on November 29th to ensure that every last detail is in place ready for your arrival around 6:45 AM ready for a 7 AM start.
  • Our speaker this year is Lorna Dueck, CEO  Crossroads Canada.  Lorna leads the teams who present the TV Ministries of “100 Huntley Street” and “Context”, seen on YES TV.
  • Our ministry of music will be led by Colin Ainswoth, who has distinguished himself with his exceptional singing and diverse repertoire. Colin attends Unionville Alliance Church. You can find a personal invitation from both Lorna and Colin at our website  www.markhamprayerbreakfast.ca  
  • Please take a minute (literally) to check us out.       
  • If you do not have your ticket or your church does not yet have a table reserved,  then  NOW is the time to correct that minor oversight. Ticket Sales are progressing extremely well, however we always have room to accommodate more!

August 2019 Update

  LAST DAYS OF SUMMER CALM

Dear Friend,

  • In our July newsletter we talked about the summer slowdown and we imagine that many of you are still ‘taking a break’ from regular day-to-day activities………..  However…….
  • The team at the Markham Prayer Breakfast is still fully engaged.
  • The organizational work for the breakfast is now complete …… down to the last sausage and pancake!
  • We are pleased to once again be holding this prestigious event at the Markham Hilton Suites Hotel at the intersection of Highway #7 and Warden Avenue. We have enjoyed a great relationship with the hotel over many years and we look forward to another great event this year.

  • The good news is once again there will be free parking and so no hassle with the parking machines.
  • Maybe the ’not so good’ news is that the prayer breakfast will start at 7 AM promptly. Our aim is to ensure that the event runs smoothly and timely so that we can wrap-up no later than 9 AM.

July 2019 Update

  Slowing down for the Summer

Dear Friend,

  • Like many of us you are probably ‘slowing down’ as the summer progresses. That slow down is a necessary ingredient in our life and work cycle. That having been said the work at the Markham Prayer Breakfast continues and we look forward to your support for the November 29th event.
  •  Summer is also a time to think about the Fall and in our case to think about our expectations for the 2019 Prayer Breakfast. We have set ourselves another lofty goal of welcoming 700 attendees this year. While it is a lofty goal, we are well on our way to achieving that,  with over 300 tickets already issued.

  • A little-known fact is that in Markham there are approximately 70 Christian churches actively engaged in Outreach and Ministry.  At the present time only 35 are represented at the Prayer Breakfast. While this may be a time for slowing down it’s also a good time to order your table or individual ticket, to ensure that you do not miss this exciting event.
  • Markham Prayer Breakfast represents the largest and probably the only multi-demoninational event of its kind. In terms of size and scope it is clearly a significant leader in both the greater Toronto area and York region.

Dear Friend,
We look forward to sharing the power of prayer with you. Our faith tradition calls us to pray together and ask God to watch over our community leaders. Gathering together strengthens our relationship and community. Please join us!

At the Markham Prayer Breakfast….
Planning is Complete!They say that ‘nothing worthwhile happens by chance’ – that is certainly true at the Markham Prayer Breakfast as we bring together the exciting elements for our 2019 program.The speaker for the event will be Lorna Dueck who may be well known to many of you as she is the CEO of the Crossroads Global Media Group , which oversees YES TV, Tricord Media, and multiple media productions including the well loved ‘100 Huntley Street’ .Our ministry of music will be led by Colin Ainsworth. This versatile and thrilling tenor has worked with opera companies across the world.  We have had the privilege of having Colin sing at the Markham Prayer Breakfast a few years ago.  He attends Unionville Alliance Church.

By Gods grace we come together each year to celebrate our faith. We pray together for our leaders who serve our community. Please join us in our 21st year celebrating together in fellowship.
